What is it worth?
BTEC Travel and Tourism is worth equivalent to 2 GCSE’s you can achieve the following:
Distinction (equivalent to 2 x A grades)
Merit (equivalent to 2 x B grades)
Pass (equivalent to 2 x C grades)
Stating a new course is exciting, BTEC Travel and Tourism is a great way to study, putting you in charge of your learning. BTEC firsts are work related so you will be focusing on the work that interests you. |

How and when is it taught?
It is taught in 6 lessons per week and we teach it in units (topics) and then at the end of each project you do an assignment which is project based in the classroom with loads of help from your teachers.
You only have to do 3 units.

Most people have experienced Tourism, whether it is trekking in the Andes Mountains of South America, enjoying a package holiday to Spain or spending a day out at a visitor attraction in the UK – so this course is suitable for everyone.
What can I do with BTEC Travel and Tourism?
Tourism will always be a growing industry with destinations adding to the brochures every year. The desire to travel becomes stronger and stronger. This BTEC is a stepping stone to a whole range of opportunities. You could move onto AS, applied A level, BTEC level 3 or a Diploma. The skills you develop can lead you into employment in the tourism and service industry, media, ICT, Journalism, teaching and many more.
