What is the Course about?

The students work towards a number of Level 1 qualifications based around evidencing their own personal development and key skills.

What do we do?

• Recognise  personal achievements
• Help mange students own learning
• Broaden students experiences
• Develop students employability skills and personal effectiveness
• Gain qualifications.

Aims of the qualification:

To help to demonstrate and develop and range of skills
To provide a way that students can get credit for what they have

Your child will be supported in making the transition from school to employment or further education through this course. They will be given opportunity to gain the  confidence and qualifications they need to achieve their potential.

Students will show evidence of 6 key skills:

1. Working with others
2. Imrpoving learning and performance
3. Problem solving
4. Discussion
5. Oral presentation
6. Research

Students will work towards a number of qualifications set by ASDAN:

• COPE (Certificate of Personal Effectiveness)
• PSD (Personal and Social Development Award
• Experience of work short course
• Wider key skills

This course is organised by Mrs Sumner and replaces other pathways and option subjects. If students complete all the work set, they COULD achieve 3 x Level 1  qualifications.
