Apart from time tabled subjects you will continue to have the opportunity to develop other skills, which may later impress colleges, universities and employers.

Active involvement in sport teams, music, the school council, readingwith younger students, work experience and community schemes are just some of the things which can help you to stand out and give you the special skills which are often valued by people outside school. They will certainly be rewarded in school. Here is a list of all activities you can get involved in.

Sports at Balby Carr - Some of the sports available to do outside of school time include: Badminton, Basketball, Football, Dance, Trampolining, Fitness, Golf, Volleyball, Rugby, Cricket, Table Tennis, Rowing, Cheerleading, Dodgeball, and Boxercise.

Music - Want to learn an instrument? Already play an instrument? Why not join one of the music clubs. They include: Garage Band, Woodwind Group, Band, Steel Drums, Gospel Choir, Choir and Balby's Got Talent.
blankpoint Homework Club - This is on everyday for students to stay after school and get support with their work.
blankpoint Revision Clubs - Near exam period most subjects will offer revision sessions for Year 11 students getting ready to take their GCSE exams.
blankpoint City Learning Centre - The CLC works closely with Balby Carr to help students exeperience the newest and most innovative technology. It offers resources such as a recording studio and a green screen room for filming media projects. It also has a gym.

Cooking Club - Cooking Club is quite new and is designed to help students (and parents!) to get involved with cooking and learn new recipes.

Other Clubs - Other subject areas offer after school clubs to help out with your school work such as Art, Electronics, Food and English.
